Case for Support Breakdown Campaign Goal: $150,000
Saint Andrew the Apostle Church on Chincoteague Island, VA is a parish that serves both permanent residents to the Island, and a large seasonal influx of visitors who either own investment/ rental property on the Island or who are faithful summer visitors over many, many years. Our parish is also involved in many ministries, not only to our parishioners and visitors, but just as importantly to the town and county in which live.
Parish Share: $100,000
Element 1: Funding the Ministries – $91,000
Our parish leadership is deeply committed to our parish and community ministries, which serve our parishioners and those in need in both our city and county. At a minimum this fund will enable us to fund these ministries for the next 3 to 5 years, creating stability in these ministries, and a consistent approach
over the years.
Element 2: Carillon Bells in Church Tower – $9,000
This will be a replacement of our bells, now silent for many years due to lack of funds, along with repairs to the tower they are housed in. Our parishioners have often asked to have them reactivated. These bells will continue their role of calling us to worship and parish events, and will be a reminder to the Chincoteague community of our presence and our commitment to serving the needs of our larger community.
The challenge of the church is to be contextually relevant and responsive to the signs of the times. We must bring Christ and His church to the people wherever they are and irregardless of their stories. Through the ministries, we would be able to meet, reach, listen and journey with them.Father Michael Imperial
