Case for Support Breakdown Campaign Goal: $1,000,000

st-fran-graph

When I first entered Saint Ann, I realized I was a privileged person because of the faith life that is infused in the people I serve. It is not only your belief in God, but your faith which touches others in remarkable ways. I often receive wonderful news about the kindness, the hospitality and the love our parish offers one and all. This is simply our faith as understood in the person of Jesus. And that is what our church is about.

As a child I remember my parents giving from their limited means to help renovate our parish church so someday the faith life that inspired them could help others to achieve the goal that Saint Paul writes about: “I have run the race; I have kept the faith.”

In that spirit, I want to share with you my whole-hearted support of the Living Our Mission campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the faith life of our community and help build a better church structurally as well as in ministry. As pastor, I am proud to offer my contribution to this endeavor. Please join me as we commit ourselves to this new campaign that will add more joy and life to our church.

Peace,
Fr. Lou Ruoff, Pastor

Because of the many needs we face as a parish, we have decided to increase our goal beyond one-time our annual offertory ($663,000) campaign to $1,000,000. This will allow Saint Ann to receive 55% back for anything collected up to our goal and 90% back for anything collected over the goal. The $550,000 we anticipate will advance our parish in the following ways:

Parish Share Up To Goal: $550,000

Element 1: Refreshing Our Church: $310,000

Renovating and Expanding the Kitchen ($250,000)

Our kitchen is not just where food is prepared; it is a cornerstone of the many ministries and fellowship opportunities we provide for our parishioners and our community. The renovation will include updated appliances, electrical and plumbing work, a new HVAC unit and repainting the entire parish hall.

Replacing Windows in the Worship Space and Chapel ($30,000)

The original windows in the worship space and chapel are over 20 years old and rapidly deteriorating. With support from the Living Our Mission campaign, we will be able to refresh both areas with new windows.

Constructing an Outdoor Pavilion ($15,000)

An outdoor pavilion is something our parishioners have requested for some time. Positioned adjacent to our parish office, it will provide shelter for outdoor activities, fellowship, celebrations, and ministries. The pavilion will also provide a place for people to sit in comfort while they wait to access the food pantry.

Revitalizing the Baptismal Font ($15,000)

As is the case with the windows, our Baptismal Font is the original. This Font is a centerpiece of our worship space and we must ensure that funds are available to revitalize it. Therefore, funds from Living Our Mission will allow us to repair leaking pipes and degraded tiles.

Element 2: Providing for Our Future: $150,000

Establishing the Saint Ann Capital Improvement Fund ($100,000)

As our facilities age, we must begin saving for their future needs. Over the next five years, we will need to replace the roof, re-pave the parking lot and paint the parish office. In an increasingly electronic age, funds to improve our audio-visual technology in the Worship Space, Hall and school building will help us maintain high quality ministries to people of all ages.

Paying the Rectory Mortgage ($50,000)

Living Our Mission will afford Saint Ann an excellent opportunity to become a debt-free parish. By using funds from the campaign to eliminate the remaining debt on our rectory, the parish will be able to free up funds for use in other aspects of parish life such as ministry, evangelization and maintenance.

Element 3: Responding to Those in Need: $90,000

Improving Efficiency of Our Daily Bread Food Pantry ($50,000)

One of our most active ministries at Saint Ann is Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. Currently, we have one offsite and two onsite buildings storing all of the food and other necessities. To improve efficiency and lower the operational costs of this ministry, we will be using funds from the Living Our Mission campaign to consolidate all the buildings into one, which will be located on parish grounds.

Augmenting the Utility, Food and Shelter Fund ($25,000)

Every week Saint Ann provides monetary assistance to those looking for help with basic needs such as food, shelter and utilities. With more funds available, we hope to ensure that we will never need to turn anyone away.

Growing Our Evangelization Ministry ($15,000)

The Living Our Mission campaign will fund the development of programs to invigorate and unite us in our faith as Catholic Christians and create opportunities for a deeper level of engagement in our Church both for ourselves and the larger community.

I want to share with you my whole-hearted support of the Living Our Mission campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity to support the faith life of our community and help build a better church structurally as well as in ministry. As pastor, I am proud to offer my contribution to this endeavor. Please join me as we commit ourselves to this new campaign that will add more joy and life to our church.
