Case for Support Breakdown Campaign Goal: $66,000

Saint John Parish Case

Living Our Mission is an opportunity to give a great gift to future generations of St. John parishioners. Two-thirds of all campaign funds raised will be designated for local parish needs. One-third of the Living Our Mission funds raised will support key diocesan priorities including the new Distance Learning Center at Jubilee House in Abingdon, where video conferencing technology will allow Catholics in Southwest VA to participate in conferences and events without having to drive great distances.

Parish Share Up To Goal: $44,000

Case Element 1: Enhancing Our Facilities – $20,000

Parish churches bring us together in the formation of a Catholic community to celebrate the Eucharist and build Christian fellowship with our friends and neighbors. St. John parish must meet future building maintenance needs in order to remain a safe and comfortable place of welcoming with such an important role in our faith life. One such need includes paving the parking lot to facilitate access to the church.

Case Element 2: Parish Endowment Fund – $24,000

The establishment of a permanent parish endowment fund within the new Catholic Community Foundation with seed funding raised through the Living Our Mission campaign will allow our parish to continue building disciples far into the future.

The Living Our Mission Campaign is now at home among us at St. John. This is yet another favorable and great chance for us at St. John to enliven and deepen our cherished vocation in Mother Church today. God has graced us with an abundance of blessings in many ways. As Parish Family, we join the Psalmist in contemplating, what return we can make to the Lord (Psalm 116:12). Your faith-founded consideration and generosity toward this Mission will be a specially treasured grace to Mother Church. And from this magnanimity of love and communion a good measure shall return to us at St. John to advance our Apostolate as Family. May God bless the work of your hands.
