Living Our Mission is a campaign; which supports the current and future growth of our Church and will benefit both Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish and the Diocese of Richmond. Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish has always been known as a warm and welcoming community, committed to evangelizing the faith and building towards a blessed future. Our parish will receive $200,000, or one-third of our parish goal towards the four case elements listed below. Our parish goal is $600,000. If we reach this goal, our parish will receive two-thirds of all of the funds raised over the goal and these will also be used for the following projects:

Parish Share: $200,000

Element 1: Tithing – $20,000 or 10%

Based on the fact that we are a tithing parish, we believe in tithing a portion of the funds raised from the Living Our Mission campaign to parish charities. By allocating 10% towards the needs of our sister parish, Saint Michele, in Hinche, Haiti and to various other parish charities we will continue to show our support of those most in need within our community of faith both at home and abroad.

Element 2: General Building Repairs – $60,000 or 30%

The multi-purpose space that we use for worship, parish events, religious education classes and other activities were dedicated in 1994. As with structures built during the same timeframe, our building is starting to show signs of wear. Therefore, 30% of campaign funds will be used toward the refurbishment of our church at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha.

Element 3: Building Fund – $120,000 or 60%

We would like to place the majority of the money or 60% into the Parish Building Fund, which already has close to $200,000 saved. The Living Our Mission campaign will allow our parish to continue saving for future building projects, as well as pay for any other unforeseen major repairs that may arise.

As a parish and as a diocese, financial planning for the future and generating financial resources are essential if we are to continue our ministry to one another and to evangelize our world. The Gospel call to selfless discipleship is very much at the heart of the Living Our Mission Campaign.
