Case for Support Breakdown Campaign Goal: $393,000
Living Our Mission is a capital campaign, which invites gifts that will provide benefits both to the Church of St. Therese and to the Diocese of Richmond. Our parish will receive $131,000, which is one third of all the funds raised. When we reach our campaign goal of $393,000, our parish will receive 66% of all money raised over our goal. The funds received by the Church of St. Therese will be used to serve parishioners in the following ways:
Parish Share Up To Goal: $131,000
St. Therese Parish Life & Facility Safety Improvement Fund – $60,500
One of the top concerns facing our parish is inspiring Catholics to grow in faith and deepen their commitment to the Church as disciples of Jesus. In order to meet this important need, $60,500 from this campaign will be to used to improve our physical presence and fully develop our educational, devotional and outreach programs. By doing so, we will be able to respond to one of the most pressing needs facing the Catholic Church which is attracting and developing the next generation of Catholics. An allocation of these funds may also be used for safety upgrades to our existing facilities in line with St. Therese needs.
Church Exterior Enhancement Fund – $60,500
The Church of St. Therese is a community of dedicated followers of Jesus, nourished by the Word, the Eucharist, and one another. As a community called to joyfully proclaim the Springtime of the New Evangelization we would like the exterior of our Church to be as inviting, welcoming and functional as possible. Possible considerations include the addition of a portico, new exterior doors, new exterior lighting and new exterior signage. The addition of a portico would also add a multifunction space for the Parish to gather before & after Mass, Palm Sundays and bake sales.
Building a Brighter Future, Establishing a Parish Endowment – $10,000
Establishing an endowment fund at St. Therese through the Living Our Mission campaign will provide a significant step forward in growing a fund that can be used to support the future of our ministries and programs. This endowment fund will not only supplement our budgetary needs moving forward, it will also attract new gifts which will supplement new projects and activities to enhance the life of our parish.
I am personally excited and very hopeful that our participation in the Living Our Mission campaign will provide a unique challenge and opportunity for our parish of St. Therese. We also stand in solidarity with our Bishop eagerly wanting to further strengthen our Diocesan Church. Your prayers and personal commitment are so important in helping us reach and exceed our goal.Fr. James Cowle
